JBL EON (2)

I use these powered monitors, each with a 15" speaker and a horn, for all guitar synth/looping gigs. It reproduces all of the sounds from the synth, the looper, the piezo output of my electric, bass pedals, etc. I also use it for electric guitar sounds, and use the Boss GT-Pro to model the signal path.

I could bring out genuine guitar amps for the 'regular' guitar, but that is more for me to bring- plus, I really need the sound to come from the same speaker.

I use this setup solo or with a band, and it sounds huge.

Tech 21 Trademark 60

This is my main amp that I use when playing any shows not using the guitar synth rack. I love this amp for it's weight and simplicity.

Generally I use the clean channel only- not that the dirty channel is bad, however, I tend to get my distortions from some sort of Tube Screamer-inspired pedal. Since I use a pedalboard anyway, it is easier and quicker than setting up the amp's own footswitch.

This amp also has the SansAmp technology, which allows an analog-modeled sound to come out of the amp's XLR output. No microphones and no stands to set up. It sounds wonderful recorded or through a PA. It is light. It is loud- but I never have to turn it up that loud. It has great reverb and it isn't fragile. Les Paul uses one himself.

Mesa Blue Angel

This is my main tube amp, although I generally don't travel with it.

Non-master volume, 1 channel, and 2 different sets of power tubes. Crank this to about 3, and it is the most glorious sound. It is easily loud enough, and when they talk about 'tube tone', they mean power tube distortion, like this amp has. One of the best tube amps I have ever tried, I tend to stick with 6v6 tubes, and it just may have the best reverb of any amp, ever.

"I REALLY enjoyed your playing. I was so mesmerized by your loop piece...so sick and wrong that it's genius" - Michael Molenda, Editor Guitar Player Magazine
